In this blog post, we’ve shed light on these 7 principles and mindset that propelled Jobs to legendary status and continue to inspire countless individuals worldwide.

1. Do what you love

Jobs believed that passion was the cornerstone of success. The famous saying of Jobs about passion:

People with passion can change the world for the better.” Asked about the advice he would offer would-be entrepreneurs, he said, “I’d get a job as a busboy or something until I figured out what I was passionate about”.

His passion is reflected in every Apple product that he launched. For him passion wasn’t just about enthusiasm; it was about having an amazing idea and relentlessly pursuing it.

2. Put a dent in the universe

Jobs had a great visionary power. He encouraged individuals to think big and aim for transformative change.

He once asked then-Pepsi President, John Sculley, “Do you want to spend your life selling sugar water or do you want to change the world?”

Don’t lose sight of the big vision.

3. Say no to 1,000 things

One of the most profound principles of Jobs that led him to the road to success was his art of saying “no”.

In 1997, he returned to his company, Apple. He took a company with 350 products and within two years he reduced the product lineup to just 10. After that, he put team A to each product so that each product succeeds to its maximum potential. Saying no, enabled jobs to use resources effectively and concentrate on projects that align with Apple’s core values.

4. Create greatly insane experiences

Jobs wanted Apple stores to be a great experience for his customers. For this, he brought innovations in providing exceptional customer service and emphasized making strong connections with customers. For Apple customer service is a top priority.

Jobs also prioritized quality and user experience above everything else. This commitment to excellence solidified Apple’s reputation as a leader in the tech industry.

5. Master the message

For Jobs, having the world’s greatest ideas was not enough; indeed they needed to be communicated effectively. Jobs had an innate ability to articulate his vision and communicate with audiences worldwide. He mastered the art of conveying his message with clarity and conviction which was the ultimate cause of his success.

6. Make connections

When young, Jobs took calligraphy classes that had no practical use for him. But, when he built the Macintosh, those classes proved useful. He also traveled to India and Asia and studied design and hospitality to gain knowledge and experience of different fields.

Jobs emphasized connecting ideas, even if they seem unrelated initially, however when you link them together, everything begins to make sense.

7. Sell Dreams, Not Products

Jobs was very sharp in understanding the minds of his customers. He created products that were amazingly simple and easy to use. And we see only one button at the bottom on the front of an iPad. In fact, Jobs created products that help people reach their dreams and win their hearts and minds.
